Homeward Bound
I’d been in California with him too long.
Tired of the lies, drugs, pain.
I sat at the overlook in San Bernadino,
thinking of the Appalachians,
soft, damp breezes, hardwood forests,-
HOME.
He was asleep-passed out
when I got back to the cabin.
Good, I thought,no hard goodbyes.
I packed the few things I cared about,
started the engine of my old van
and watched the dust behind me.
Homeward bound.
Was that a song, a book?
Didn’t matter-the sun was to my back,
pushing me eastward-
to peace, to healing, to welcoming arms.
All I had to do was stay on I-40
until I could breathe again.

Thank you for your support-I will look up your blog and follow it-how you will follow mine. unfortunately, I am not to great on blog advise. The thing that has worked for me almost too well the past few weeks is to join groups of bloggers who publish other bloggers works, encourage supporting each other, offer contests, etc. I get more email now than I can handle and still thirst for more. May I ask how you found m? Then perhaps I can direct you to some of the sites that have helped me lately. It takes time, writing lots of blogs, pestering people on Facebook, patience….beebee

oh, i know patience is very imp and i found u cause i like reading poems and i myself wrote but it takes at a lot of courage to write it publicily. I used to stick to my journal and btw i am plain lazy.I saw the name of the blog and then the poem was so natural and from within so i liked it . And thanx for whatever u could help me with , beleive me its encouraging and a great help.

I keep a journal for my son-i have always had diaries and journals-and you are so right-it is scary to “put yoourself out there” and let others read your innermost thoughts. beebee
